Our aim is to promote an inclusive environment where all are respected, valued and supported.
Our work to develop our people is guided by our HR policies and frameworks. We have established People Forums in each business area to allow us to understand perspectives of the team and to work together to identify opportunities to improve employee engagement and development.
Every two years we complete a business wide survey of employee engagement to take stock of our performance and identify opportunities to improve.
Our approach to promoting diversity is described in our HR policies. We apply these policies across the business and recognise the importance of how we support diversity in our recruitment and people development processes. We monitor our gender pay gap and use the results to identify opportunities to improve our performance.

Esken put in place a COVID-19 support program for team members and revised the London Southend Airport Safety Management System. We recognised the need to do more and are now also developing a new internal Health and Safety campaign as part of our programme to excel in health, wellbeing and safety. We have started to put in place a holistic diversity strategy, which includes positive actions to support women leaders as part of our focus on “developing our people”.
